Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CAO, the Director, Agriculture and Community Services is a permanent full-time senior leadership position that directs, oversees, and leads the Agriculture and Community Services department in support of Clearwater County’s vision and strategic plan. The Director plans, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of the programs in relation to Agriculture and Community Services, working with the Agriculture Services Board and Clearwater Council. This position is the Agricultural Fieldman, a designated officer of the county in carrying out the functions, duties, and powers of the county under any legislation relating to agriculture.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Agriculture
- 8-10 years’ progressive experience, including leadership, budget planning and administration
- Experience working in Agriculture & Community Development
- Will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Assets/Preferred:
- Training/professional development in leadership and management
- Experience managing large Community projects and working with community associations
- Experience working with directors, boards, or councilors
- Experience working within a municipal setting
- Pesticide applicator license
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Class 5 Drivers license (required for all County employees)
